Why ?

Dear Dr. Amson,

You asked me to think about the reasons for the surgery, and to write to you when I could identify them. Many thoughts flood my mind. The most important one, is that if someone was able to take me back to the start of my life, and give me a second chance at developing new healthier eating habits, I would be forever grateful. This would allow me to forgive the negative eating scenes throughout my life and grant me permission to treat myself with a new outlook, image and respect. I, sir, would be all over that like country-style gravy smothered on chicken fried steak. (Just joking)

I dream of one day of being able to board an airplane with other passengers, instead of pre-boarding because I need more time, and I hate asking in front of other passengers for a seatbelt extender.

I dream of one day being able to walk into a clothing store, any clothing store and having the option to try on clothes that fit.

I dream of the day where I can finally be who I feel like inside.

I want to enable others and become an inspiration for hope, courage and ability to change the way they feel about their own bodies.

Thank-you, Dr. Amson, for giving me hope for a new life.

Sincerely,

S.B.A
